Why did Roberta Moon need to write this book?

The experience of a sudden and unexpected loss of employment is one of life’s top five stressors. This is the reason that I have tissues handy when interviewing. Heartbreaking stories take a turn towards hope and motivation when you realize that there is a formula to winning a successful career. I wrote this book to share the secrets to empower everyone to succeed. 

I have been in the employment industry since 1986, and I have supported and trained thousands of people during the stress of losing a job or career transition and ultimately finding a new job or career - oftentimes at my own company.

Very few people understand how to elect, win and keep a successful career. 

Originally, I chose to share my observations/knowledge and secrets with high school and college students since schools lack the resources to offer career education. Quickly I realized that it was not just students but daily I met candidates floundering during the interview process after handing me unintelligible resumes with no direction, expectation or drive to Own A Career.

In all honesty, when I first arrived at the Baseball Winter Meetings I had no idea what to expect. I was finishing up my last quarter of university, and because the Winter Meetings were in my town that year I decided to take a chance.
